Sir Gareth explaining to his mother why he must leave home to become a knight:
Man am I grown, a man's work must I do Follow the deer? follow the Christ, the king, live pure, speak true, right wrong, following the King— Else, wherefore born?
I've really been enjoying Idylls of the King. Tennyson's poetry is wonderful, he retells the Arthurian legend with skill, and the Christian imagery, though imperfect, is fantastic.
I'll pass this on to Glo. She'd love it :)
