God has a plan for healing all the people of the earth, even the hopelessly broken. "Yahweh is near to the broken hearted, and saves the crushed in spirit." He will renew and restore, and there is no doubt of his success.
"When [Jesus] saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.'"
(Matthew 9:35-38 ESV)
Lord, the internet, airplanes, and globalization, among other things, have given us eyes to see the world like never before. We see more people made in your image than we've ever seen. We see more suffering, brokenness, evil, and destruction. We see fellow souls suffering from want and malice. We know of more men and women who do not have the good news of your Son to free them and give them hope. We hear about sin's devastation and the work of Satan across this planet, as well as in our cities.
Lord, even as we see more of sin today than ever before, let us also see more of your grace. Father, we see the ready harvest, show us the reaping and gathering. Let us see a multitude of laborers from across the globe go out into the harvest. Call your laborers with your voice, which they know. Stir up your labors with passion and zeal for you and for the peoples.
Lord, help us to be faithful, not ceasing to pray and trusting in you. Give us zeal and passion to plead the cause of the lost before your throne. Father, help us to obey you with earnest prayers. And call out your laborers from among us.
By the power and for the glory of Jesus' name
