Fix Publishing by Focusing on Ideas—Great Ones

Seth Godin has a thoughtful article on how publishing works, and what it should look like in the future. The time is ending for publishing books that bookstore shoppers will pick up to fill an information need. Now is the time to write books that spread: 
Which leads to the alternative. Instead of books that seek to be one of many to be chosen by the shopper with a problem, there’s the opportunity to publish books that spread, spread from someone who is in love with an idea to someone who didn’t even know they had the problem.
