I'm Profoundly Disabled Too

It's easy to feel uncomfortable around disabled people. Their radical differences, compared to most people one associates with, usually makes relating to them awkward. Pride--that is sin--also makes us uncomfortable around the disabled. Let's put this sin to death and start seeing the world through the reality of the gospel:

The world's neglect of the disabled comes from its desire to appear strong, without uncomfortable reminders of its need. But those who come to Christ find in the disabled a picture of their own weakness. Beates says, "People with disabilities are essential in the church, since their presence reminds us that we are weak and broken before a holy and compassionate God."
